DNS hijacking is a technique that meddles with the fundamental address book of the internet. Means it targets the pillar of internet architecture, the Domain Name System translating the domain name "yourname.com," into the IP address of the computer (i.e. "18.104.22.168.").
Now imaging you visit your bank
and the system redirects you to any other IP other address (which you cannot see) Phishing your data would be easy.
Recently a hacker group called Sea Turtle carried out a broad campaign of espionage via DNS hijacking, hitting 40 different organizations.
